Build a Sankey diagram from the data you already have

Use plain text, CSV, TSV, Markdown, or JSON to describe a flow. Sankey Studio organizes sources, destinations, and values into a readable visual, then lets you download an editable SVG or a PNG for a report or presentation.

Input and export quick reference

Export Excel or Google Sheets data as CSV before uploading; native XLSX and XLS workbooks are not supported. Upload a non-empty text file no larger than 256 KB (262,144 bytes), with no more than 60,000 characters. Keep source and target labels consistent and use one unit for each flow.

If a file is rejected, check its format, size and source/target/value rows before trying again. Choose SVG for editable vector output or PNG for a raster image. Uploaded text is sent to the server for processing and may be processed by the configured AI provider; avoid sensitive data and review the result. See the Excel and CSV preparation guide for a worked example.

What are Sankey diagrams used for?

Sankey diagrams show how a quantity moves through connected stages. Use them to explain income and costs, household budgets, energy sources and losses, marketing funnels, or any flow that is easier to compare by width than by rows in a table.

Sample financial figures and company names are illustrative. Review generated diagrams before publishing or relying on them.
